Casual look for Fall 2010

The summer is comming to an end, but you can still wear denim shorts! Here is how J Crew makes a casual look by pairing the shorts with opaque tights, a shirt, heels and faux fur. On the right side of this photo is how you can wear this look in a similar way as seen in J Crew's model, and on the left is how I would wear it, with boots and a check shirt.

Chic

We've seen high waisted shorts on the runways (Charlotte Ronson's 2010 Spring Collection for example)and they are great if you want a casual look or a more polished one, by pairing them with a blazer and high heels. This combination does need a splash of colour though, which is why I chose fun tops. Here it is:

New Look ballerina vest:9.60£
Topshop Jersey Boyfriend blazer: 55£
Topshop belted shorts: 32£

Charlotte Ronson's collection is full of pastels and great combinations of shorts, dresses, skirts and bustiers. Here's what I found in the hightstreet that is slightly similar:

Mix and Match

I found this bag and this hat at the Topshop website and loved them, mainly because they look great with almost anything. Don't mix it with more prints though, or it will be too much as the bag already makes a statement. Here are some possible combinations:

Above:
Topshop look
T-shirt: 20£
Straw trilby hat: 20£
Peeptoe platform: 70£
70's frayed hotpants: 20£
Peeptoe wedges: 80£

Topshop dress: 55£
New Look patent bow platforms: 50£

If you have a plain dress and want to make it more original, just add some fun accessories like these shoes and this necklace:

Topshop dress: 35£
Topshop Necklace: 12£
ASOS shoes: 45£

If a floral dress mixed with white and pink accessories is too girlie for you, toughen it up with a leather jacket and black and grey accessories:

Topshop heart ring:8£
Topshop shoes: 70£
Topshop dress: 32£

Neutrals and Florals

A huge trend that was spotted on the runways were Neutrals and Florals, particularly on Luella's 2010 Spring show (photos from Style.com). Want to know how to wear these trends on your everyday life? Here is how you can mix both trends and wear them either during the day with flats or to go out at night with high heels. This look does require a warm weather though! You can wear it in the spring with boots, and in the summer with sandals. Pair it with neutral accessories, or with bright colours and bows as seen in Luella. Hope you enjoy!
